Coaching Philosophy:

As an Emory University trained Health & Wellness Coach, I follow the guidelines and recommendations of the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). Specifically, I follow their Scope of Practice and their Code of Ethics. I do not give nutrition advice or provide meal plans and I do not “prescribe” specific types of exercise. Health and Wellness Coaches do not take the place of your medical team, including your doctors or mental health professionals.

So, what DO coaches do? We use a client-centered approach where we focus on YOUR goals, not some random, generic set of goals that I create for you. We work in partnership to first explore your health and wellness vision to get a clear picture of what you want and what motivates you. From there, we focus on small, manageable SMART goals to move you toward your vision. Nothing is more important than visualizing the life you want to live and then taking steps to achieve it. Health and Wellness coaches do not tell their clients what they “should” want, you tell us what you want and we help you get there. It’s a powerful approach because it is driven by you.

Another important part of coaching with me is that I follow the 8 Dimensions of Health & Wellness model. This holistic model takes more into account than just physical health and realizes that when one aspect of our life (or more) is out of sync it can impact more than just that area of health. We want to find balance and while physical health may be what leads you to seek a Health and Wellness Coach, it may not be the most pressing aspect of your health journey. You get to decide where we focus at all times. The specific wheel that I use is below:

Below are a list of things that I can help with:

  • Life Balance/Wheel of Wellness
